Edible Urban Garden

A geometric rooftop-inspired food display for Fiskars’ 375th anniversary celebrating the dialogue between nature, design, and city life.

For Fiskars’ 375th anniversary, Vitamin Color was invited to design a culinary experience and custom display for a workshop introducing the brand’s new urban plant care line.

The intention was to turn the table itself into an edible rooftop garden. Raised bed gardens were replaced by rectangular dishes, and ready-to-harvest produce was replaced by ready-to-enjoy dishes. The display mimicked the organization and aesthetics of a rooftop garden - where nature and city elements coexist in harmony.

Inspired by geometric abstract art, the buffet was arranged as a bird’s-eye view of an urban garden: structured yet vibrant, lush yet minimal. A hand-painted base served as both artwork and serving surface, while photographs of Tiergarten greenery and concrete staircases framed some of the dishes, reinforcing the dialogue between organic softness and urban structure.

The result was a playful and poetic interpretation of urban plant care - a celebration of growth, creativity, and the beauty that emerges when nature meets design.
