Deconstructed Seder Plate

A three-course dinner for Hayom Art and the Jewish Food Society reimagining the Seder ritual and Jewish diaspora recipes.

For the first Shabbat dinner in Paris, co-hosted by Hayom Art and the Jewish Food Society, Vitamin Color created a menu that wove together ritual, art, and the culinary heritage of the Jewish diaspora. The evening celebrated both the launch of Hayom’s new Seder plate designed by Joann Sfar and the Jewish Food Society’s cookbook by Naama Shefi, a collection of recipes and stories that honor the diversity of Jewish cooking around the world.

The opening course, the Deconstructed Seder Plate, offered a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Passover ritual - uniting all its symbolic elements into a single, cohesive dish.
The second course presented a vibrant selection of salatim — small shared plates inspired by recipes from the Jewish Food Society cookbook, celebrating the breadth and beauty of the Jewish diaspora through seasonal vegetables, spices, and textures.

Together, these courses created an edible dialogue between tradition and reinterpretation, honoring the past while expressing a contemporary culinary language of community and renewal.
